Where innovation comes to Life

“We challenge ourselves every day to think about how we can be more successful in treating patients – this is the DNA of Nobel Biocare.”Hans Geiselhöringer, Nobel Biocare President

Demonstrating state-of-the-art technologies, techniques and products, the Nobel Biocare Global Symposium in New York was an outstanding affair, unrivalled in speaker quality, topic diversity and networking opportunities. Bringing together some of the biggest names and leading thought-leaders from the international dental implant community, the event showcased the very best the industry has to offer.

150+ Globally Leading Speakers

Making this Symposium stand out from others, the speaker line-up presented more than 150 professionals operating at the fore of implantology around the globe. These included Oded Bahat, Edmond Bedrossian, Steve Bongard, Wolfgang Bolz, Andrew Dawood, Bertil Friberg, Stefen Holst, Saj Jivraj, Sree Koka, Paulo Malo, Paul O’Reilly, Patrick Palacci, Alessandro Pozzi, Eric Rompen, Luc Rutten and Peter Wöhrle, to name just a few!

An Unrivalled Programme

The efficient event app proved most helpful when navigating the many lectures, hands-on workshops and master classes available, which were split into three themes to help delegates select the most appropriate sessions for them.

  • Theme 1 – Treatment enhancement and refinement – evidence counts
  • Theme 2 – Reaching excellence in aesthetics by joining the journey of digital dentistry
  • Theme 3 – Achieving clinical excellence in challenging situations

Throughout the four-day programme, a diverse and intriguing spectrum of topics was covered, inspiring excellence, stimulating debate and challenging the perceived boundaries in modern implantology. The main sessions explored everything from clinical protocols, techniques and materials to optimisation of the digital workflow, strategies for managing soon-to-edentulous patients, biologics around implants and cement vs. screw-retained restorations.

A huge selection of master classes and hands-on workshops were also available to choose from, covering immediate protocols, the 4th dimension of surgical reconstruction, bone regeneration materials and techniques and the benefits of NobelClinician™ with SmartFusion technology. Among the particularly popular sessions were a master class for the All-on-4® treatment concept with Paulo Malo and Andrew Dawood’s hands-on workshop on how to rescue unfavourable implants and restorative situations. Due to unprecedented high demand, some sessions were even repeated so more delegates could attend.

Learning opportunities were presented for other members of the team as well, promoting the benefits of an integrated team approach for the most successful treatment outcomes.

For the more experienced implant dentists, various sessions sought to push the boundaries of current innovation, with speakers covering ridge augmentations, advanced guided bone regeneration using pig jaws, optimising soft and hard tissue outcomes, as well as immediate loading and function. The final session of the event focused solely on ‘The Compromised Patient’, with 20 speakers exploring a huge spectrum of challenging clinical scenarios and demonstrating how they overcame the obstacles faced.

Exceptional Product Feedback

Throughout the event, Nobel Biocare brought innovation to life by providing insight into the various exciting new solutions available; each designed to help practitioners treat more patients better.

Among those that received the most amazing feedback from delegates was the On1 concept. A real game-changer in the implant-restorative field, the base can be attached during surgery and leave throughout healing and the lifetime of the restoration for reduced soft tissue disruption. The Multi-unit Abutment Plus was another much talked-about solution, with delegates excited to discuss its potential influence on day-to-day life with time-saving, snap-fit functionality. Offering a more efficient and safer workflow alongside the All-on-4® treatment concept – which was also pioneered by Nobel Biocare – it the ideal addition to every implant dentist’s armamentarium.

Further innovations worthy of note include a new high-translucency multi-layered full-contour zirconia; creos™ xenogain, a deproteinised bovine bone mineral matrix for bone and tissue regeneration; the new Locator R-Tx™ attachment system; new NobelZygoma® implants; and an extended range of NobelSpeedy® Groovy implants.

Incomparable Learning Experience

With more than 150 internationally celebrated speakers, 3 scientific themes, 71 master classes, 59 hands-on workshops, 6 forums and a night to remember at the highly anticipated Symposium Reception, the Nobel Biocare Global Symposium clearly had the recipe for success. Over 2,000 delegates from 58 countries attended, witnessing as the event brought innovation to life and provided a truly incomparable learning experience.
