BDIA Dental Showcase opened its doors to an impressive 12,000 members of the dental industry and profession for three days on 9-11 October.
The largest event in the UK’s dental calendar, organised annually by the British Dental Industry Association (BDIA), brought together both the biggest selection of and the very latest in dental equipment, services and techniques, with more exhibitors than ever choosing to launch brand new products at the event. We caught up with a few of the exhibitors and delegates to find out their experience of the event.
Charles Fuller, Marketing Strategy & Planning Manager for Oral-B Professional Health UK comments: “Dental professionals come to the show expecting to see Oral-B, expecting to see the new products. To be associated with BDIA Dental Showcase with a gold sponsorship is a really worthwhile thing to do. The BDIA deliver a great platform for us to promote our oral health products to the market.
Oral-B will definitely be back at BDIA Dental Showcase next year. We’re already on board as the headline sponsor for the 2015 event. So we’ll be back with all guns blazing!”
John Rafelt, Scientific Affairs Manager at 3M ESPE says: "We come to Showcase every year. It's the number 1 event for the dental community each year. We have to be here. It's our number 1 touch point with our customers. Customers want to come and see what we've got new."
Every year, more and more dental businesses and organisations choose to exhibit at BDIA Dental Showcase. This was the first time The British Endodontic Society came to Showcase.
Mr Murray Saunders, President of The British Endodontic Society, said, “With such a large number of dentists in attendance, it proved to be the perfect platform for us to catch up with our existing members and meet new ones. The exhibition was a fantastic opportunity to liaise with delegates to discuss our membership options, promote our professional development and conference opportunities and offer guidance.”
Trialling cutting-edge, time-saving innovations and meeting suppliers face to face meant dental professionals were able to make informed purchasing decisions for their businesses, confident in the knowledge that they had met and selected their suppliers first-hand.
Kilan Shah, a Dentist from Cambridgeshire highlights this saying: “At Showcase I’ve enjoyed seeing new products and tested them out as well. Showcase has given me the idea of what I want to get so when I get home I’ll put some orders in.”
Tawseef Nazki, a Dentist from Colchester, told us why he attends: “I’m here to find the equipment I need. It’s easier when everyone is in the same place to find the different models and test them out. It’s a lot easier to come to Showcase than it is doing it from the practice.”
Visitors also enjoyed more than 100 lively lectures that took place throughout the event, hosted by dental exhibitors such as Renishaw, Periproducts, Dental Focus and Wrigleys. With the added bonus of free verifiable CPD, the whole dental team were able to top up on their annual requirements at the exhibition. Delegates can download their CPD certificates for general and verifiable CPD gained during the event from 27 October 2014 at www.dentalshowcase/cpd-information.
“Being on a much larger scale than any other event in the dental calendar, BDIA Dental Showcase truly is the flagship dental event. Dental companies from around the world recognise this and year on year we see them putting more investment and effort into their exhibitor stands. Other exhibitions take place throughout the year but this is the show that exhibitors really pull out all the stops for. We saw more product launches than ever this year – so if there is one event the dental team should be attending to keep up with the latest products and developments, it’s BDIA Dental Showcase” commented Tony Reed, Executive Director of the BDIA.
BDIA Dental Showcase 2015 will take place on 22-24 October at the NEC, Birmingham – over 50% of the floor space has already been booked. Save the dates in your diary now.
