Former Chief Dental Officer for England, Barry Cockcroft, has joined the board of the IDH Group as a non-executive director. Cockcroft will act as an advisor to the board, in which it is expected that his vast experience in the dental and health industries will be a real asset as the group grows and develops their business and improves standards of care.
Cockcroft has had an illustrious career within dentistry. He was elected to the General Dental Services Committee of the BDA in 1990, and was later elected as vice-chairman. He became Deputy Chief Dental Officer for England in 2002, before taking on the main role in 2006. He has been awarded honorary fellowships from the University of Central Lancashire and the Faculty of General Dental Practice. He was also awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours List of 2010.
