The body of award-winning cosmetic dentist Jamie Newlands, 39, was discovered last Friday in the countryside on the outskirts of Glasgow. His body was discovered by police after his family reported him missing when he failed to return home.
Jamie, a married father of one, ran the multimillion-pound Berkeley Clinic in Glasgow’s west end where he treated stars such as actor Robert Carlyle, Rangers’ Allan McGregor, Aston Villa’s Alan Hutton, Miss Scotland finalists and many more.
A statement issued by a Police Scotland spokesman said: 'At around 20:45 hours on Friday 28th July 2017 the body of a 39-year-old man was found by officer on Greenfield Hill, Muir Road, Eaglesham. There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.'
Newland won Scotland’s Best Young Dentist back in 2009 and then went on to win Best Dentist award in 2010. Countless tributes have poured in across all social media platforms, showing how truly beloved the young dentist is. A pre-recorded message at The Berkeley Clinic's answering machine said: 'The clinic will be closed due to a bereavement within the practice and will reopen on Tuesday morning.'
The cause of death is not known, but police have said that there are no suspicious circumstances.
